Year 7 and 8 Basketball Spring League – Term 4 2020

  • Friday night, six week competition
  • Starts: 16 October – 20 November (no game on 6 November)

SGHS Cricket Hub is running a programme called “YEAH Girls”

* The sessions will be in Term 4 on Tuesday lunch times.

* It will start in Week 2 of Term 4 – this will see each of the two age groups
(Yr 7-10 and Yr 11-13) having 4 weeks of sessions.

* Years 11-13 Students: Weeks 2-5 (Tuesday 20th Oct – Nov 10th)
* Year 10-7 Students: Weeks 6-9 (Nov 17th – Dec 8th)

Students can sign up by completing the forms on the Sport Noticeboard in the Gym.

Cost: $35.00 per player (based on a team of 7, costing a total of $240 to enter)

Games: Term 4 2020 – begins Monday, 2 November, until Monday, 14 December

Games will be 5:30 pm kick off at ILT Football Turf, Turnbull Thomson Park, Invercargill.

Girls will be put into teams of 7.  Games are 5-a-side.

Girls need to be at the Football Turf at least 10 minutes prior to the start of their games.

Uniform:  All players will be given and must wear their Southland Girls’ High School blue or red Football shirts and matching plain navy shorts. Girls must be wearing proper gym shoes or indoor football or futsal shoes. The school activity top may also be worn over top.

Summer Football is a 5 aside competition to keep the ball rolling over summer.

Played on the artificial pitch at Turnbull Thompson Park on Mondays after school.

Season Starts: 14 Feb 2021

Season Ends: 22 Mar 2021

Junior League:
Year 7-8 (5 aside Recommended 7 players per team)
Year 9-10 (5 aside Recommended 7 players per team)

Touch Rugby – Term 4 2020

  • Thursday’s 4 week competition (2 games per night)
  • Start 15 October – 5 November (12 November and 19 November for wet weather if needed)

Volleyball Guideline and Protocol for Games:

  • Contact Tracing – Signing into ILT Stadium Southland is mandatory so please ensure you have downloaded the tracer app before heading to your game. We also have a manual sign-in sheet that EVERYONE is to use as well as the tracer app.
  • Please sanitise your hands on arrival (sanitiser will be provided)
  • We ask that schools only bring 1 ball per team to warm up with to minimise the risk
  • If you are sick or have a low immune system, please STAY HOME
  • Toilets/Changing rooms – There will be designated toilets for particular zones. Please use only the toilet facilities within your zone. 
  • NO SPECTATORS. Due to the limit of numbers per zone, we are not allowing any spectators. Only players and coach or manager.
  • Once games are finished, we ask that all players leave the venue immediately. 
  • If your team is on duty, please only have a maximum of 2 people per duty.
