This is a compulsory topic for all Year 10 students. It is intended as an introdution to Year 11 Economics and to Year 12 Business Studies. The course is composed of:
- An introduction to economic skills and ideas
- The opportunity to identify individual skills and abilities
- An opportunity to develop skills in working with others
- The opportunity to develop and market an innovative product
SGHS students won a Capital Experience 2009 for the student's successful innovation "Perfume Pens". The product was deemed so novel, the students were invited to travel to Wellington for an expenses paid trip, where they were able to partake of a Capital E experience, a trip to Weta workshop, Parliament and the Reserve Bank, as well as being taken out to tea at the Lonestar, and then to the movies.
