The Young Reporters For The Environment Competition is an opportunity for students to use their video, photography and report writing skills to raise awareness of an issue linked to litter, waste or pollution.
The competition is run by ” Keep New Zealand Beautiful”, and Sophie won the national competition for her age group last year, giving her entry into the International 2023 competition representing New Zealand in the 11-14 yr age group.
We are thrilled to announce Sophie’s success placing 1st with second place to Slovakia and 3rd place to Israel. Sophie’s entry was a video on the issue of Food Waste and was made with the help of our local Kiwi Harvest Branch.
This year has seen Year Seven and Eight students working on their entries for the 2023 competition as part of the inSiGHtS learning package.
We wish these students all the best for their entries and are proud of them for using their creativity to help raise awareness on issues that impact our environment.
