As part of the students’ introduction to the Agribusiness and Agricultural sector, they will be visiting the Waimumu Southern Field Days site, and the aim is to look at careers and opportunities available within the Primary Industry, with an advisory, consultant and analytical space.
Taking Year 12 and 13 Agriculture and Agribusiness students to the Waimumu Field Days in February 2026 will give them a unique opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world industry practice. With over 700 exhibitors they’ll be exposed to the latest innovations in farming technology, agribusiness solutions, and sustainable practices, while engaging directly with farmers, suppliers, and industry leaders. The event fosters curiosity and critical thinking by allowing students to see how theory translates into practical applications, and it helps them build valuable networks that could support future study or career pathways. Most importantly, it inspires them to envision their role in shaping the future of New Zealand’s primary industries.
