Please find below information for the 2024 Netball Season, to register your child for netball please read through the following information and complete the registration form below.

Netball contains risks, including common injuries like strains, sprains, bruises dislocations.  These events are managed by the appropriate sporting body in conjunction with school staff who will manage risk and hazards according to the school’s safety management plan.  This includes careful consideration of the risks, all risks will be outlined to the students. While risks can be maintained to acceptable levels they cannot be totally eliminated. Some risk is retained for its learning and experiential value.  If you wish to come in to school to see our safety management systems or have any questions, feel free to contact Ashleigh Rabel 03 211 6030 or ashleigh.rabel@southlandgirls.school.nz.

It is important for safety reasons that students follow instructions given to them by all staff and follow all appropriate school rules. Behaviour by students that is deemed dangerous and puts themselves and/or others at undue risk will result in your child facing disciplinary actions on their return or sent home at the cost of the Whanau/parents or caregivers.

Trial Information:

Students should be at all trials, but are required to attend at least two trials

Uniform: 

• The 9A, 10A and top 4 senior teams will be issued with the SGHS netball dress.
• All other teams will be required to wear the SGHS PE top and a red skirt (these can be purchased from student services for $37).
• Issued netball uniforms are to be kept in the same condition as they were issued out. A $100 fee will be charged for lost or damaged dresses and pants, each additional item will be charged at $50.

Fees:

Netball fees  will be advise once they are set – these will need to be paid by 31 March. Based on 2023 Fee these could be approx $120-$170. You can start an AP by using ‘Netball’ as a reference for any payment made or contact kirsten.turner@southlandgirls.school.nz.

Coaching/Managing a Team:

Teams will only be able to be registered if they have an adult who is prepared to be at all team games so please consider volunteering for this role.

Season Dates: In addition to Saturdays, there are some Sundays included in this years season across all grades.  If you are unavailable for any of the dates below you must inform your coach as soon as possible.

Student’s in any SGHS A team are required to make themselves available for these tournament dates.
