Southland Football Information for Alert Level 2

Please find below important information from Southland Football: 

Due to the current circumstances at Level 2, we’ve had to adjust the time slots and fields for this Saturday.

This changes will allow for a better flow of people in and out of the park which means more time between games.

What changes have we made?

FUN FOOTBALL – please encourage families to have one parent only watching the games!

  1. Format will be the same as previous weeks as teams will play maximum in 3 different fields.
  2. Parents NOT ALLOWED on the turf – must stay behind the barrier and practice social distancing.
  3. After the last game please leave through the closest exit door to avoid traffic at the main gate – there are doors on the side and on the far end side of the game;
  4. Prize giving can be done outside on the grass area just outside the turf – please maintain 2 metres distance between groups;

JUNIOR & YOUTH FOOTBALL – 9 to 12 GRADE – please encourage families to have one parent only watching the games!

  1. 2 time slots: 9.00am & 11.00am
  2. Play only on fields 3, 5, 7, 9 + 11&12 (9 side) and Turf (3 fields) –  Between each field there is more than 2 metres.
  3. 12th grade games below will be played on the turf at 11.00am
    1. TT2 is the field at the far end side (opposite side of the gate)
    2. Field 1 is the first half (gate side)
    3. Field 2 is the second half

SENIOR FOOTBALL

  1.  No changes required at this stage
  2. Clubs may need to manage dressing rooms differently
  3. The dressing rooms at the Turf will be used as normal – each team will have one changing.

In case we go back to Alert Level 1 in the best case scenario the draw will still be the same this week.

RISKS Disclosure

Weekly sports contains risks, including common injuries like strains, sprains, bruises and dislocations. These events are managed by the appropriate sporting body in conjunction with school staff who will manage risk and hazards according to the school’s safety management plan. This includes careful consideration of the risks, all risks will be outlined to the students. While risks can be maintained to acceptable levels they cannot be totally eliminated. Some risk is retained for its learning and experiential value. If you wish to come in to school to see our safety management systems or have any questions, feel free to contact Ashleigh Rabel 03 211 6030 or ashleigh.rabel@southlandgirls.school.nz.

It is important for safety reasons that students follow instructions given to them by all staff and follow all appropriate school rules. Behaviour by students that is deemed dangerous and puts themselves and/or others at undue risk will result in your child facing disciplinary actions on their return or sent home at the cost of the Whanau/parents or caregivers.

I understand that playing sport is an opportunity for me to learn, practice skills, and gain attitudes and values in an environment outside of the school.  I realise that this requires me to take on genuine responsibility for my own enjoyment and safety and that of others.

I agree to do the following to make this happen:

  • Show courtesy and consideration to others.
  • Follow the rules and instructions of staff and other supervisors at the events.
  • Look after myself and my personal belongings.
  • Declare medical conditions that could affect participation in the events.
  • Accept the rules set by the school for the events.

I understand that my parents / caregivers will be contacted and I may be sent home at their expense if:

  • My actions are considered unacceptable by staff / supervisors of these events.
  • I breach the behaviour / discipline standards of the school.
  • My actions put me or others in any danger.
