Winter Tournament Week

Winter Tournament Week WRAP UP!
NETBALL
Well done to the girls who played with pride and heart in a tough grade up in Christchurch. The team put their bodies on the line and came away with 2 wins to finish off the tournament last Thursday. A wonderful & fun time away with some awesome girls!
BASKETBALL
A tough battle for the girls up in Dunedin with a small travelling team. Some amazing mahi out on the court with so much skill and learning involved. Special shout out to Lee M who was 2nd top scorer for the tournament. A lot of fun, laughs and stalling of the van by Miss Hunter
SNR A HOCKEY
A strong start off to the tournament finishing 1st in the pool rounds! Some more tough battle games with some nail-biting and epic matches to come. Very exciting to have it down in Invercargill this year with the support of other students, teachers and parents coming to cheer on the girls!
SNR B HOCKEY
The girls did so well for their first tournament! Hard battles on the turf but a huge experience for the girls to be playing teams for all over. Learning and growing and taking away new skills and work-ons for next season!
FOOTBALL
Won 3 and lost 3, finishing 11 out of 20 for our football girls up in Dunedin. The team gave it their all and were superb on and off the field. Students Y8 – Y13 in this team where they all connected as a team and took away a great experience!
A HUGE shout out to all the coaches, managers and supporters for all the teams. We can’t do tournaments and trips like this without the time and help put in for these girls and it is much appreciated. Bring on next year!

RISKS Disclosure

Weekly sports contains risks, including common injuries like strains, sprains, bruises and dislocations. These events are managed by the appropriate sporting body in conjunction with school staff who will manage risk and hazards according to the school’s safety management plan. This includes careful consideration of the risks, all risks will be outlined to the students. While risks can be maintained to acceptable levels they cannot be totally eliminated. Some risk is retained for its learning and experiential value. If you wish to come in to school to see our safety management systems or have any questions, feel free to contact Ashleigh Rabel 03 211 6030 or [email protected].

It is important for safety reasons that students follow instructions given to them by all staff and follow all appropriate school rules. Behaviour by students that is deemed dangerous and puts themselves and/or others at undue risk will result in your child facing disciplinary actions on their return or sent home at the cost of the Whanau/parents or caregivers.

  • Show courtesy and consideration to others.
  • Follow the rules and instructions of staff and other supervisors at the events.
  • Look after myself and my personal belongings.
  • Declare medical conditions that could affect participation in the events.
  • Accept the rules set by the school for the events.
  • Take part in all activities within ‘challenge-by-choice’ options

I understand that my parents / caregivers will be contacted and I may be sent home at their expense if:

  • My actions are considered unacceptable by staff / supervisors of these events.
  • I breach the behaviour / discipline standards of the school.
  • My actions put me or others in any danger.
