Your child has been selected to represent the school at the NZ Secondary Schools Rugby Sevens Finals, more commonly known as Condors 7s.

Players will be responsible for getting themselves to Invercargill Airport on Friday 1 December. Please ensure that you are at Invercargill Airport at 12.00pm on Friday 1 December for our group check in.

Each player is entitled to 1x piece of checked in luggage weighing up to 23kgs, and one piece of carry-on that does not exceed 7kg or 118cm when adding the height x width x length of your carry-on. For more information visit https://www.airnewzealand.co.nz/carry-on-baggage

Van Transport

We have been supplied with 2x vans for all other travel this includes the following.

  • Auckland Airport to our accommodation and return
  • Accommodation to Blake Park each day and return
  • Team trips to the beach, shopping, meals etc
  • Emergency reasons

The vans will be driven by parents Kelly Lafoga and Mason Middlemass.

Supervision: The team will be coached by SGHS staff member Nathan Muir and Maima Saili. Kelly Lafoga will help manage and stay with the team.

Cost: $700.00 this covers accommodation, food, fuel for the vans, entry fee and consumables such as first aid supplies etc. This to be paid by Monday 27 November

Medical: Please ensure that your childs medical and contact information are up to date at Student Services.

This event contains risks, including those associated with travel e.g. flying and the use of public and private transport, injuries associated with the sport of rugby such as soft tissue and impact injuries such as broken bones, strains and concussion, and accidents that could happen during their daily activities e.g. falls, cuts and knocks.  This event is managed by school staff who will manage risk and hazards according to the school’s safety management plan.  This includes careful adhering to the itinerary, ensuring that all safety precautions are followed in accordance with the law, and appropriate supervision and monitoring of the entire group well-being.  While risks can be maintained to acceptable levels they cannot be totally eliminated.  Some risk is retained for its learning and experiential value.  If you wish to come in to school to see our safety management systems or have any questions, feel free to contact Nathan Muir 03 211 6030 or Nathan.Muir@southlandgirls.school.nz.
