Year 7 Citizenship Ceremony

It’s an exciting day here at SGHS as we launch a brand new way of celebrating our wonderful history and all the incredible woman who have walked through our halls and the current students who are on their own journey wearing the famous red shoes.
Our Year 7 citizenship ceremony acknowledged the first year of learning and being a student of SGHS – the girls were also the first students to receive a generational badge marking their place as a student in their families history.
While many girls received a Generation 1 badge, we did have students who received a badge with a 3 or 4 on it to recognise they are either the 3rd or 4th generation of their family to attend SGHS.
All students enrolled from 2021 will receive a badge to represent their place, and the badges will also be on sale to the general public in 2021 for our alumni to purchase.
History is a living thing and we are so proud to be writing the next chapter with our students here at SGHS.
