Jenny McDonald Secondary School Hockey Tournament

  • Dates: Sunday 27 August – Friday 01 September 2023
  • Venue: Aorangi Park, 70 Morgans Rd, Timaru
  • Who: SGHS Senior A Hockey Team
  • Cost: $890.00 per student
  • Payment, Health and Permission form due by: Monday 21 August 2023.
    • Please note: School procedures is full payment must be received by the due date for your child to be eligible to play in this tournament. If payment and permission form is not completed by the due date your child will be withdrawn from the team. Once payment has been made and competition commenced there will be no refunds. Payments will be allocated to any unpaid fees and charges on your child’s account first.
  • Uniform Requirements: Senior A Hockey Dress, Alternative Dress and top, Blue Polyprop, Red/White Hockey Socks,
  • Accommodation: Geraldine Motels, 97 Talbot St, Geraldine 03 693 8501
  • Transport: Go Bus Rental Vans.
    • Sunday 27 August: Depart SGHS, time to be confirmed.
    • Friday 01 September: following their final game in Timaru they will travel back home.  Students can be collected from Go Bus 3 Spey St, Invercargill time to be confirmed

This event contains risks, including transportation and common injuries’, like strains, sprains, bruises and dislocation’s.  This event is managed by school staff who will manage risk and hazards according to the school’s safety management plan.  This includes careful consideration of all risks and all risks will be outlined to the students.  While risks can be maintained to acceptable levels they cannot be totally eliminated.  Some risk is retained for its learning and experiential value.  If you wish to come in to school to see our safety management systems or have any questions, feel free to contact Sarah Rabbitt, sarah.rabbitt@southlandgirls.school.nz or 03 2116030.

Behaviour by students that is deemed dangerous and puts themselves and/or others at undue risk will result in your child  being collected and not being able to participate further.

Some risk is retained for its learning and experiential value.   • Show courtesy and consideration to others.
  • Follow the rules and instructions of staff and other supervisors at the events.
  • Look after myself and my personal belongings.
  • Declare medical conditions that could affect participation in the events.
  • Accept the rules set by the school for the events.
  • Take part in all activities within ‘challenge-by-choice’ options

I understand that my parents / caregivers will be contacted and I may be sent home at their expense if:

  • My actions are considered unacceptable by staff / supervisors of these events.
  • I breach the behaviour / discipline standards of the school.
  • My actions put me or others in any danger.
