As part of the Year 12 Agriculture class we are trying to incorporate as many hands on practical activities as possible. Steve and Tracy Henderson have kindly offered to work with our class on practical hands on farming activities at their dairy farm. This links everything we have been talking about in Agriculture this year together and also gives them invaluable hands on experience that they can use when answering their external exams, or in future dairy farming careers.
For your child to attend this hands on experience we do require parent/caregiver permission. Please read through the following information below and complete the permission form by 16 August 2024.

Being pooed or peed on while milking the cows, being kicked by a cow. This event is managed by school staff who will manage risk and hazards according to the school’s safety management plan. This includes careful instructions on how to behave to all students before going on the field trip. While risks can be maintained to acceptable levels they cannot be eliminated. Some risk is retained for its learning and experiential value. If you wish to come in to school to see our safety management systems or have any questions, feel free to contact Mel Young, Head of Agriculture, [email protected] or 2116030.
- It is important for safety reasons that students follow instructions given to them by all staff and follow all appropriate school rules. Behaviour by students that is deemed dangerous and puts themselves and/or others at undue risk will result in not participating in future Agriculture field trips.
