Y10 EOTC Days of Photography Nov 2023

As part of our Year 10 Education Outside the Classroom programme your child has selected to attend the Year 10 EOTC Days of Photography around Invercargill.

Students will spend four days learning and practicing photography skills at school and locations around Invercargill. All activities will be within school hours with no after hours or overnight component, students should turn up to school at the usual time (8:50am) and will be back at the usual time (3:10pm).

This activity is focused on having a go at taking awesome photos and processing these. Students will learn basics of using an SLR Camera then head out around town to put the skills in use. We are going to be working with a theme in mind to learn how to tell stories with a camera and then exploring different mediums for printing photos.

The first 3 days will be using the camera and developing photographic skills then on the last day students will learn processing and editing imagery using digital formats. They will also get a chance to try some different techniques like cyanotype printing and other hands on printing processes taking the photo into a more mixed media realm.

At the end they will be able to print out a number of their photos to take away with them.
