Today we welcomed our Kumagaya Exhange students! A pÅwhiri was held for them in the hall along with their host sisters and Year 7 and 8 students. We have a week of fabulous activities in store with them.
Today our Duke of students shared what the award is about and their personal highlights of their award journey, and then they introduced outdoor cooking as a skill. We are very grateful to Back Country Cuisine for coming along, talking to the group about how the food is made, and kindly donating products for us to cook up and taste test. Each group tried a breakfast meal, a main meal, and a dessert. Back Country Cuisine also donated meals for future Duke Edinburgh tramps, which is much appreciated.
We hope we gave our Kumagaya students a taste of the great outdoors and some information on some of our extracurricular groups at school.
