The SGHS PTA are a small but motivated group of parents who meet around 9 times a year. We provide a point of contact between the School and the families.
We help the School run events – in particular the annual Open Night in August and Colours Assembly in October.
We are funded by the Family Donation that is currently set at $30 per family, per year. In addition to this we usually undertake one fundraiser per year. Previous fundraisers have included an Art Exhibition, Cheeserolls, and Truffles.
We also run the Second Hand Unishop, where we buy in good condition uniforms and on sell these throughout the year at a small profit, which we then donate back to the School.
Our fundraising efforts are put to good use to provide those extras in the classrooms that are not Ministry funded. To enhance our daughters’ learning environment. On average, the PTA contribute around $25,000 annually to learning resources.
Our monthly meetings are usually held on the first Monday of the month during term time, at 7pm in the Principal’s office. Yvonne Browning attends these meetings and it is a great way to find out what is happening at school.

The PTA Unishop is open on the last Friday of each month from 3pm—4pm.
The Unishop is located in the front of the Connexions Building by the big sign. Cash and Eftpos is available for payment.
