The Southland Interschool Japanese Speech Competition involves students in Years 9-13 from three different high schools in Invercargill – a total of 30 students competed this year.
Year 9 students performed role-plays in pairs, while Year 10-13 students gave speeches on varying topics. Competitors also answered two questions at the end of their speeches in Japanese. We welcomed one of our alumni, Krista Nishimura back to the school as a guest judge.
The girls all displayed a superb standard of work with some stunning results:
