It was a warm welcome to Brandy Alger who visited from the University of Canterbury to talk to our PHY201 and CHEM301 students about the Engineering and Science Pathways offered at the University of Canterbury.
The feedback from our akonga about Brandy’s session was it was incredibly informative – and the information around the academic opportunities and camps for Year 12 that are offered on occasion at the university campus.
We are very grateful to Brandy for sharing her own experience and background at the University where she is currently studying towards her PhD in Disaster, Risk and Resilience. Originally from the USA, Brandy has a Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at San Antonio, and has worked at UC for the past six years in various education and outreach roles.
