SGHS students are always looking for ways to be good community citizens.
Every Tuesday lunchtime a group of students from Years 7-13 meet for Outreach Singing. This is a volunteer group, who regularly visit the residents at Peacehaven Village.
Outreach Singing is about shared music making, anyone can join, and the idea is to sing together for the purpose of mutual enjoyment. The songs are older ones such as ‘Loch Lomond’ and ‘Cockles and Mussels’ known and loved by the residents.
The group has been visiting Peacehaven since June last year and so genuine bonds have been formed between the girls and the residents. The group are provided with buses to and from Peacehaven courtesy of Go Bus.
