Best of the Best Celebration Showcase: Update

UPDATE 31/08/2020:

All dates are sold out!

UPDATE 27/08/2020:

As we are under Level 2 restrictions, the Senior Leadership Team and Board Chairs of both schools, in consultation with the production crew, have explored the options available to ensure the upcoming Best of the Best showcase may proceed.

As always the safety of the cast, crew and the audience has and remains the number one priority.

We hope that as the parents and whanau of the cast, you will support us as we navigate the new conditions under which the showcase must operate.

The changes are as follows, the current season of 4 nights will be extended to 5 nights with new dates of:

  • 31 August
  • 1 September
  • 2 September
  • 3 September
  • 4 September

The start time has changed to 6.30pm.

A total audience of 50 only is able to attend each performance. This allows the cast and crew of 50 to be on the same site at the same time. This also means the current maximum number of 100 people allowed in a public venue is adhered to.

Members of the audience will be required to enter and exit via a separate entrance to the cast, who will also have their own entrance and exit.

Audience members will also be required to sign in on arrival via QR code or a contact tracing register. Sanitiser must also be used on arrival and departure.

Masks may be worn if you wish to do so.

The cast and crew will be required to stay separate from the audience at all times, including after the show – with all those on site having to vacate the premises immediately at the conclusion of the performance via their respective exits.

All current tickets that have been purchased will be refunded in full today.

Tickets for the new dates will be released for sale via the Eventbrite site on Friday, 28th August at 6:00 pm.  As each show will only have 50 tickets available, we ask that you consider limiting your ticket purchases to one night only.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused the friends and family of SGHS and SBHS.

Nga Mihi,
Best of the Best Production Crew

UPDATE 26/08/2020:

For those of you who were due to attend Thursday 27 August performance of Best of the Best, we will be cancelling this show as we work towards a solution to allow us to perform in line with Level 2 restrictions and  keeping the health and safety of our cast, crew and audience at the forefront of our planning. A full refund of tickets purchased will be issued to you immediately.

A formal announcement around the show will be issued on Thursday 27 August via email to all attendees to the currently sold out four shows.

Your patience and support is appreciated by us all as we navigate this every changing landscape that the schools are required to operate under.

Warm Regards,

Best of the Best Production Team

UPDATE 21/08/2020:
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we waited to hear the announcement today from the Prime Minister on Alert Levels for New Zealand in the coming days.

After today’s announcement we have had to reassess our plan for the Best of the Best showcase.

Next week, our Thursday and Friday shows (27th and 28th August) will continue as planned at this stage.
However, there will be a slight change of plan in regards to our Tuesday and Wednesday shows (25th and 26th August) with these two shows now rescheduled for Tuesday 1st September and Wednesday 2nd of September respectively.

It is unlikely that the Prime Minister will shift us out of Alert Level 2 before Wednesday next week hence why we have had to reschedule these performances.

We know that you are just as excited to see the show as we are to perform it for you.
We have been overwhelmed by the support from you all as we navigate this ever changing situation where the health and safety of both the cast and the audience remains our number one priority.

Thank you once again for your support – we look forward to seeing you all in the audience soon.

Kind Regards,

The Best of the Best Production Team

UPDATE 17/08/2020:

With the recent announcement regarding COVID-19 restrictions, we understand that there are concerns about the upcoming performances of Best of the Best. There is a possibility that the Prime Minister will announce an early shift out of Alert Level 2 in which case performances will continue as planned.
We are exploring alternatives for the Tuesday and Wednesday performances should things play out as has been announced where the country remains in Alert Level 2 until 11:59pm on August 26th.
While we are aware of your concerns we feel we need to wait until the announcement on Friday August 21st before we can announce the alternative plans to avoid confusion.

If you are in a position where you need to cancel your booking, please get in contact with Eventbrite https://www.eventbrite.co.nz/support/contact-us

Kind Regards,

Best of the Best Production Team
