Hokonui Fashion Design Awards – 25 July 2025

As part of our new Fashion and Design programme at Southland Girls’ High School, students will have the opportunity to attend the 2025 Hokonui Fashion Design Awards show in Gore on the 25th of July. The event will showcase up and coming fashion designers, as well as other high school students’ work. The aim of this trip is for students to have a deeper understanding of where studying fashion can lead.

This show starts at 7:30pm and lasts for approximately two hours. We will leave at 5:45 and return to school between 10:30 and 11pm, meeting at the red doors at the very front of the school. Students are not expected to wear school uniforms for this, but it is advised that they dress warm and wear something comfortable for the car ride. Students may use their phones or a camera to take pictures of the event. It is recommended that students only bring a small bag that can hold their belongings and medications with them to the venue, any large bags will be left in the van.
