Location: Splash Palace

Events: 50m Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly, Freestyle, 4x 50m Medley Relay, 4x 50m Free Relay

Cost: TBC  and pool entry on the day, relays no cost.

Transport: Caregiver responsibility

Clothing and Equipment: SGHS PE uniform and Jacket. Own swim togs and cap. Water to hydrate

Swimming contains risks including common injuries like strains, sprains, bruises an dislocations. This competition is managed by SDRL, Southland, Southland Secondary School Sport and SGHS will help to supervise risk and hazards according to the school safety management plan. This includes careful consideration of risks and all risks will be outlined to the students. While risks can be maintained to acceptable levels they cannot be totally eliminated. Some risk is retained for its learning and experiential value. If you wish to come into school to see our safety management systems or have any questions, feel free to contact me.

It is important for safety reasons that students follow instructions given them by SDRL, Southland Secondary School Sport, referees and teach coach and follow all appropriate schoool rules. Beahviour by students that is deemed dangerous and puts themselves, and.or others at undue risk will result in parents/caregivers being called to collect their child and not being able to participate further.

Some risk is retained for its learning and experiential value.
