Lily Adams (Year 9) was named last week as the new SGHS Deputy Chess Captain for 2023. Lily will step into the very capable shoes currently held by Brooke who graduates from SGHS later this year. We know that Lily’s positivity and fabulous attitude will come in very handy while in this role.

Some of our Year 8, 9 and 10 students recently got to work with robotic equipment and they had a blast! Joining them was Andrew Welsman from SBHS and Michelle from Kiwibots who brought the equipment along for the students to use. It was nerves of steel for Year 7 student Bonnie P who competed recently at the New Zealand TT MotoX Nationals in Timaru. Placing 2nd in New Zealand for Junior Girls, we look forward to watching Bonnie’s progress in this exciting sport.
