Term 3 signalled the start of a new partnership with SIT – Te Pukenga allowing some of our Year 10 students to attend classes specialising in the Carpentry, Engineering and Automotive trades.
Attending 7 classes per fortnight, the students involved will receive expert tuition with a view to learning more about these trades as potential career pathways.
With a total of 14 students involved in the pilot, the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive as they master new skills.
At SGHS we constantly look for exciting learning opportunities to inspire our students and provide them the resources to extend their learning in areas that interest them.
