The amazing talent of our school choirs continues to shine brightly here in the Deep South.
Femme, our premier school choir received the incredibly exciting news yesterday that they have been invited as one of 24 choirs who will compete at the National Big Sing Finale in Christchurch in August.
Femme is the only choir south of Christchurch to receive this honour.
Sanguine was also named as a reserve choir for the South Island Cadenza, the second-tier competition to be held in Timaru. This is the first time the choir has reached this part of the competition, so needless to say we were thrilled for the students to be recognised for their hard work.
A big thank you to Miss Rae and Mr de Blois, along with our wonderful pianist Sarah for the hours and HOURS of hard work that go into preparing the choirs for these competitions.
We wish both choirs all the very best for the next stage of these competitions.
