  • Cost: $35.00 per student – full payment due by Friday 9 May 2025
    • Please note: Board financial procedure requires payment in full, by the due date for your child to purchase resources, participate in sports or attend trips/events. Payments received will be allocated to the oldest unpaid fees and charges owing on your child’s account first. Extra-curricular activities operate on a “pay before you play” policy.
  • Venue: Civic Theatre, 88 Tay Street, Invercargill
  • Transport: students and staff involved will be transported to and from the venue by Go Bus for the daytime rehearsal. Students must make their own way to the venue for the evening performance.
  • Requirements: appropriate dance/PE gear for all rehearsals, including gym shoes or dance shoes.
  • Practises: Practises have begun and are during lunchtimes for both Junior and Senior. Students are to attend all practices and if unable to, contact their student leader immediately. If a student fails to do so on three or more occasions they will be removed from the team by Miss Higgins. Students need to regularly check Google Classroom so they know when they have a practise.
  • Phones: Phones are not permitted to be used during the day time rehearsal as per the school policy.  Normal school rules will apply if students are caught using their phone.  During the evening performance, students may use their phone in the dressing room, however, these are not to be taken into the theatre or backstage.
  • Social Media Consent: Showquest will have a crew of photographers and videographers who will be capturing footage on event days, with images shared on social media and performances hosted on our online channels. By participating in Showquest photos, filming, and recordings of your child may be used for webisodes, website, social media, and future promotional campaign activity by Showquest, Rockquest Promotions Ltd, and partners (including but not limited to ZM, Rockshop & Ministry of Education).  If you do not consent to the above please email [email protected] by Friday 2 June 2025, unfortunately your child will no longer be able to participate in this event.
  • Safety: Students are not permitted to leave the Civic Theatre during the day time rehearsal. It will be advisable to send all students with adequate food and water to last the day.  Further details about the planning for the day will come closer to 9 June.
  • This event contains risks, including risks of tripping, falls and injuries during rehearsal and the performance. This event is supervised by school staff alongside the Showquest Team and the staff from the Civic Theatre, who will manage risk and hazards according to the school’s and the Civic Theatre’s safety management plan.  Students will be allocated a teacher who they have to check in with throughout the day, in order to keep to our allotted rehearsal times.

In the event of any emergency students will follow the instructions given by the Showquest Team and the Civic Theatre Staff. If any student becomes ill during the day St Johns staff will be on site. Students are also advised to bring any medication they may require along with something to keep them occupied during the quiet times of the day. While risks can be maintained to acceptable levels they cannot be totally eliminated.  Some risk is retained for its learning and experiential value.
