A good day at the crease for the SGHS Cricket team who played Columba College today in Dunedin.
Columba chose to bat first and posted an impressive total of 187-1. Lucy McHutcheon was the SGHS wicket taker and did an excellent job.
A great start by the SGHS team with the first two batters getting to 49 before the first wicket fell.
Captain Alex Hopcroft led from the front scoring 62 before being dismissed in the 17th over.
Unfortunately the score posted by Columba proved a challenging one but the girls played incredibly well scoring a solid total of 107-6 in their 20 overs.
The girls are being coached by Teacher in Charge of cricket Steve Jackson showing consistent progress in both their gameplay and skillsets.
Congratulations girls on a fantastic day out representing SGHS.
