The learning focus in the Level Two Food and Nutrition class is to determine the value of sustainable food practices. As part of our learning and to enhance the classes understanding of sustainability, we will be visiting Otautau Blueberry Farm and Wilsons Vegetables.
This trip will involve the whole class visiting both farms, having a tour, having hands on experiences picking fruits and vegetables and how each farm is using sustainable practices.
We will use these fruits and vegetables in our practical lessons as the class continues to learn and use different preserving methods.
All students need to attend, as this is part of their assessment task.
