Southern Cup 3×3 Basketball

Your child has been selected in the Senior A 3×3 Basketball team to represent Southland Girls’ High School at the Southern Regional 3×3 Basketball Tournament in March 2025.

  • Dates: 26 March – 30 March 2025 (travel inclusive)
  • Accommodation: Boutique on Bealey, 69 Bealey Ave, Christchurch
  • Transport: Hire vehicle
  • Venue: Games to be held at a venue in Christchurch
  • Clothing and Equipment: SGHS basketball singlet and shorts, SGHS warm up top, navy trackpants, SGHS jacket for travelling and games. As well as casual clothes and personal items
  • Cost: $800.00 indicative amount to be confirmed. Please complete the permission form by 7 March 2025
  • Selected Players: will be expected to make 2x trainings per week in the lead up to the tournament and we will work these around the team and gym bookings where possible.

Mainland SISS Volleyball Tournament Information

Our Senior A volleyball team will be competing at the Mainland South Island Secondary School’s Volleyball Tournament to be held in Christchurch.

  • Dates: Thursday 27 February 2025 – Sunday 2 March 2025
  • Accommodation: Boutique on Bealey, 69 Bealey Ave, Christchurch
  • Transport: students and staff attending will be transported by the SGHS school van, driven by Miss Hansen.
  • Food requirements: students need to bring a packed lunch for the first day, water bottle and any other snacks/food they wish to bring for the trip. All meals during the trip will be catered for. Please disclose any dietary requirements below so we are able to cater for your child. Students need to ensure that they bring any medication or inhalers with them.
  • Uniform requirements: SGHS team playing top / SGHS navy spandex shorts or navy sports shorts.

South Island Secondary Schools Water Polo Tournament

Our Senior A water polo team will be competing at the SI Secondary School’s Water Polo Tournament to be held in Christchurch

  • Dates: 26 March – 30 March 2025 (travel inclusive)
  • Accommodation: Boutique on Bealey, 69 Bealey Ave, Christchurch
  • Transport: Gobus Hire Van
  • Venue: Jellie Park and QE2 Council Pools
  • Clothing and Equipment: SGHS water polo togs, SGHS warm up top, navy trackpants, SGHS jacket for travelling and games. As well as casual clothes and personal items.
  • Costs: $780.00 tbc Please pay and complete the permission form by 7 March 2025
  • Staff: The team will be managed by Brenda Goodwill (TIC of Waterpolo) and coached by Ashley Rabel

This event contains risks associated with travel and sport, including road travel and common injuries like strains, sprains and dislocations.   • Follow the rules and instructions of staff and other supervisors at the events.
  • Look after myself and my personal belongings.
  • Declare medical conditions that could affect participation in the events.
  • Accept the rules set by the school for the events.
  • Take part in all activities within ‘challenge-by-choice’ options

I understand that my parents / caregivers will be contacted and I may be sent home at their expense if:

  • My actions are considered unacceptable by staff / supervisors of these events.
  • I breach the behaviour / discipline standards of the school.
  • My actions put me or others in any danger.
