The School Board provides strategic governance to their school or kura. The board works in partnership with the principal, teachers, support staff, the community, and the government to ensure the best possible outcomes for all ākonga (students).
The board is accountable for student progress and achievement to its parents, community and the Crown. The board has the overall responsibility for the financial viability of the school or kura. The legal responsibilities of school Boards are determined by the Education and Training Act 2020.
