The Year 10 Japanese class recently completed a unit of learning based around Daily Routines.  One of the areas of focus was on meals and learning how to express what they eat/drink on a regular basis.  As part of that learning, we also learnt about Japanese food and eating etiquette.  To put this learning into practice, we will take a trip to Koji Japanese Restaurant, to try some different foods, practice using chopsticks correctly and utilize the language learnt in class.

We will look at the menu in class, and each student will pre-order their lunch.  This will mean that they know how much their lunch will cost in advance.

Please note, if your child is absent from school on the day of the trip, please contact Mrs Wilson so that their order can be cancelled.

This event contains risks, including suffering a food allergy and/or pedestrian injury.  This event is managed by school staff who will manage risk and hazards according to the school’s safety management plan.  This includes checking food allergies prior to ordering.  It also includes a walking plan to and from the restaurant.  Students will need to abide by pedestrian road safety procedures and keep their focus on traffic at all times.  While risks can be maintained to acceptable levels they cannot be totally eliminated.  Some risk is retained for its learning and experiential value.  If you wish to come in to school to see our safety management systems or have any questions, feel free to contact Mrs Ainslee Wilson on 03 2116030 or  [email protected].

It is important for safety reasons that students follow instructions given to them by all staff and follow all appropriate school rules. Behaviour by students that is deemed dangerous and puts themselves and/or others at undue risk will result in them being sent back to school.
