1st XV Rugby Season 2024

Your child has registered to play in the 1st XV for the 2024 season.

Details:

Monday 29th vs St Peters College (away game)

Monday 5th August vs Verdon College (away game)

Monday 12th August Final (depending on qualification)

The team will be co-coached by Maima Saili and SGHS Teacher Nathan Muir

The team will travel to and from the games on the 29th of July and 8th of August in vans. They will travel to and form the game on the 5th of August via bus. Vans and buses will return to SGHS and then Enwood on return to Invercargill. Whanau will be more than welcome to take their daughter home at the conclusion of the game if they could let Mima or Nathan know before doing so that would be appreciated. Any drop offs on the way home from a game must be communicated to Nathan prior to the day of the game preferably by email.

Cost: $35.00

This event contains risks, including injuries associated with the sport of rugby such as soft tissue and impact injuries such as broken bones, strains and concussion, and accidents that could happen during their daily activities e.g. falls, cuts and knocks.  This event is managed by school staff who will manage risk and hazards according to the school’s safety management plan.  This includes careful adhering to the itinerary, ensuring that all safety precautions are followed in accordance with the law, and appropriate supervision and monitoring of the entire group well-being.  While risks can be maintained to acceptable levels they cannot be totally eliminated.  Some risk is retained for its learning and experiential value.  If you wish to come in to school to see our safety management systems or have any questions, feel free to contact Nathan Muir 03 211 6030 or [email protected].

It is important for safety reasons that students follow instructions given to them by all staff and follow all appropriate school rules. Behaviour by students that is deemed dangerous and puts themselves and/or others at undue risk will result in your daughter facing disciplinary actions on their return or sent home at the cost of the Whanau/parents or caregivers.
