SGHS will be entering teams from Years 7-13 into the Term 4 Touch Rugby weekly competition run by Touch Southland.

Dates: Thursday 15 October – 5 November 2026 from 3.30pm-6.30pm

Cost: $25.00. Please Note: Board financial procedure requires payment in full, by the due date for your child to purchase resources, participate in sports or attend trips/events. Payments received will be allocated to the oldest unpaid fees and charges owing on your child’s account first. Extra-curricular activities operate on a “pay before you play” policy.

Clothing: SGHS PE uniform, SGHS activity top, school jackets or base layers can be worn to keep warm (no non uniform clothing to be worn)

Referees: SGHS will supply all referees for the games

Touch Rugby contains risks including common injuries like strains, sprains, bruises and dislocations. This competition is managed by SGHS and the SGHS Senior A Touch Team to help to manage risk and hazards according to the school’s safety management plan. This includes careful consideration of the risks and all risks will be outlined to the students. While risks can be maintained to acceptable levels they cannot be totally eliminated. Some risk is retained for its learning and experiential value.
