SGHS Evidence Setting Exams Monday 7 Sept – Thursday 17 Sept
Students sitting NCEA examinations will have Evidence Exams over the mornings of the next two weeks. Normal classes will continue if your daughter has no exam timetabled – there is no study leave this year. It is imperative that your daughter sits these examinations.
If a student is absent for an exam (due to illness, bereavement or other extenuating circumstances) they MUST arrange with their teacher to catch this up upon their return or they will be awarded a Not Achieved. Students who are away during exams for unjustified reasons, e.g. family holidays, will receive a Not Achieved as their grade.
This means if your daughter is sick or has exceptional circumstances in the November examinations and is unable to sit the NCEA examinations and a Derived grade needs to be applied for, she will be awarded a Not Achieved, as this grade must be based on evidence that has been gathered under similar conditions to the external examinations.
