As part of our NCEA Level 1 Art course our students visit a local Marae. This experience will allow the students to learn about local history and understanding of identity and how art can communicate meaning.
We will learn about the artworks in the Whare Nui (the meeting house) and the meaning behind these as part of the learning required for the level 1 Visual Arts course. The students will be asked to take written notes and drawings to record what they see and learn.
