We will be having our Annual Noho Marae from Thursday 5 March to Friday 6 March 2026.
It is that time of year again for our annual noho marae. This is the event that the girls enjoy the most because it’s a time for them to relax, get to know each other, to share food, sing songs, play games, be creative and tell stories.
Our noho starts on the Thursday at 6pm with a Pōwhiri and ends on Friday at 3:30pm. It is important that our new whanau attend the pōwhiri. All of our current whanau we would love to have you with us too. It is a pot luck dinner on Thursday night, so if each whanau can bring some kai to share that night would be much appreciated. This year for Te Manawa Kaharoa we are started our Iwi challenges there are 4 iwi groups, Te Tai Rāwhiti , Te Hiku o Te Ika, Te Upoko o Te Ika and Waka a Maui. We have already had 2 iwi challenges this year which were both won by Te Tai Rāwhiti. The iwi challenges for the Noho marae are: the fried bread challenge and the iwi chant challenge. The challenges will take place on the Friday.
Just a heads up to all of our parents some of the iwi challenges this year will include you. One such event will be a mini Pā wars which will take place before Labour weekend. I will provide more information later this term so that you can get yourself prepared for that event. Please see below the planned activities and details about the Noho Marae.
