For your child to attend the Water polo Tournament in Christchurch, please read through the following information and complete the following permission form below, including the Student Health Form, HERE.
The permission form and health form are due by 6 March 2023.
- Dates: 29 March – 2 April 2023
- Time: Depart SGHS at 8:00 am / Return to SGHS approx. 9:00 pm
- Transport: SGHS school van – driven by Mrs McNaught and parent helper, Kelly Overdevest.
- Venue: Christchurch, Jellie Park and QEII pools
- Accommodation: Bealey Quarter, 263 Bealey Avenue, Christchurch.
- Cost: $650.00 per student – this includes travel, accommodation, tournament entry and food. Dinner will be in the restaurant in the evenings and this has been included in the cost.
- Full payment is due by 22 March 2023 – Please note: School Policy requires payment in full for your child to be eligible to participate in this trip. Payments will be allocated to any unpaid fees and charges on your child’s account first.
- Other information/requirements:
- SGHS togs are to be purchased from the school at an additional cost $86.00 – please click HERE for our ‘How to make Payments’ page. Mrs McNaught will hand these out to the players once payment is received.
- Uniform: School t shirt, activity top and blue track pants or leggings for travelling and gym shoes. No travelling in scuffs or jandals please.
- Dietary requirements: please indicate this on the Student Health Form.
- Please bring towels as there will be limited opportunity to wash them.
- Food: they will need to bring a packed lunch for the travelling day up to Christchurch on the 29 March.
- Other requirements: spending money, toiletries, first aid including any medication or sanitary items, comfy clothing for after the tournament days, and pyjamas.
- Health and Safety: This event is managed by school staff who will manage risk and hazards according to the school’s safety management plan. If you wish to come into school to see our safety management systems or have any questions please contact Rowana McNaught. It is important for safety reasons that students following all appropriate school rules. Behaviour by students that is deemed dangerous and puts themselves and/or others at undue risk will result in a phone call to parents and removal from the competition if required.
