About Enwood House

Enwood House has a proud tradition of providing "A home away from home" for Southland girls.
We believe in team management consisting of all hostel staff, girls, parents and school.
Southland Girls' High School has an outstanding curriculum, modern facilities and equipment, allowing Enwood Girls to make use of these facilities after school hours.

Enwood House is within easy walking distance of the school, sports grounds, swimming pool and city facilities. This enables boarders to involve themselves fully in school, cultural and sporting activities.

We offer you a choice of full-time or Monday to Friday boarding with the optional extra of staying on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday night as the need arises.

Our motivated and supportive team of house staff provide boarders with a structured caring environment.

A Boarders Handbook containing detailed information about Enwood Hostel is issued to new boarders and their parents.

Year 7, 8 and 9 Introductory Programme

In November of each year new girls have an orientation sleep-over, working with the prefects and staff and familiarising themselves with their new surroundings for the following year.

Scholarship and other assistance

• Secondary School Bursaries - girls who wish to study a course not provided by their local high school.
